Kankri x Fem!Reader: All because of Quadrants

Oh hai dere stranger reading this amazing Reader Insert. This is my second one! And I decided to try something different :33 I hope it worked, if not I might go back to my old way... I don't know why I decided to write something like this.. but I was like, Why not! Let's waste precious time that should of been used for homework to write a one-shot! I'm sorry for any.. OOCness... Please tell me I got Kankri right? Please?

Oh yea, one more thing! There's Karkat, sooo there is swearing! If it triggers you, please don't worry about it! It is just how Karkat is.

~Reader-Chan's POV~

It was the first day on your summer holidays. You were on your way to one of your best troll friends' home, Nepeta _{(Just deal with it :33)} . You have learnt a lot about the "troll" culture and it still ceases to amaze you. Nepeta has given you a book about some other stuff, but there was one thing you still only slightly understand. Quadrants. Yes, the infamous "Quadrants". Oh how they mess with your head at times, but you slowly began you understand them when you asked Nepeta for help. She said she was going to have some extra help today, so you were pleased. When you arrived, you knocked on her door. It opened quite quickly and Nepeta was behind it.

"Oh! So glad that you can make it [N/N]!" Nepeta greeted you with a hug and you hugged back.

"The pleasure is all mine, my friend." You answered back. She giggled and led you inside, not forgetting to close the door.

"Well as I said before, I got some extra help, you might know some of them." Nepeta began as we arrived at the main room of her hive. "This is Kanaya, she's a rainbow drinker. That there is Rose, a human just like you. That's Karkat, or should I say Karkitty." Karkat growled at Nepeta. "Well, those are the people who are helping mew today, but there are some others that are here because they wanted to meet mew in person!" Nepeta explained.

"You.. opened your mouth didn't you?" You asked.

"Yup! Sorry I had to! But in return, mew know what I did." Nepeta grinned.

"Ah yes, how could I forget? But might I add that it does trigger me ever so slightly when you do things about me without my consent." You explained.

"Yuck! Why the fuck is that human like Kankri!? Talking about the fucking triggers!" Karkat shouted.

"Karkat, language." A guy with a red turtle-neck sweater, said.

"Excuse me. But I know things, dear Karkat Vantas. May I remind you that, you are helping me today?" You said. He grumbled as Nepeta giggled.

"[Name] is like that when you first meet her Karkitty! She'll warm up to us fast so you shouldn't be to mean!" Nepeta giggled again and sat you down on the couch. "Anyways, today we are helping her understand about our Quadrants."

"What?!?" You and Nepeta giggled.

"It seems to me that you have no told them how long I have known about trolls and their culture." You said.

"It must of slipped my mind. My bad! Well [N/N] here has know of us for at least a sweep." Nepeta explained. You two got some questionable looks.

"Told ya I know things. Quadrants are the only subject I do not understand fully about your culture." You then said after a slight awkward silence. "Also, I know a lot about all of you. Well how much the Lejions know."

"What do you know of the Quadrants so far?" Kanaya asked. You thought for a bit.

"Well the mere basics really. There are four Quadrants, Kismesissitude, the caliginous quadrant, Moirallegiance, the pale quadrant, Matespritship, the flushed quadrant and Auspisticism, the ashen quadrant. Moiral and Matesprit are redom and Kismesis and Auspistice are Blackrom." You explained.

"Do you know anything about them?" Rose then asked.

"Not entirely no."

"Let's start with an easy one, Moirallegiance. It is what you humans call, a best friend, someone you always go to." You nodded.

"But it is not that simple!" Karkat piped in. "They are like a guardian to! They keep each other grounded let's just say. They help and advise the other, like a protector in a way. They are like, what you humans call 'Sibling love'." You had a understanding face on, when you heard this explanation.

"That makes it easier to understand. Thank you Karkat." You thanked. "How about Kismesissitude next?" You asked and they nodded.

"Kismesissitude is a violent quadrant-" You interrupted Kanaya's speech.

"Do they pail?" You asked innocently. Everyone in the room blushed.

"...Yes." Kanaya answered. You nodded.

"[Name], may I remind you that what you just ask may trigger many people? You should know that triggering people in that sort of way is not that polite, and as you seem to already know about triggers, you out of all people should know how it can trigger people, but it seems that you do not know of those trigger..s." Everyone in the room looked at Kankri, as they heard him slow down in his speech. They saw that you were only inches away from Kankri.

"I see, you are the infamous Kankri I have heard about." You informed. "I know that this triggers you, but it was the only way to stop you from lecturing at me. I only do the lectures." You got slightly closer to his face. He was blushing heavily. You lightly place a hand on his chest. "I have an idea, but I think I will save it once I learn about the rest of the quadrants." You pushed him lightly and walked back to your sit on your couch. "Anyways Kanaya, you were saying before I rudely interrupted you."

"Ah yes, as I was saying. A Kismesissitude is when both hate each other, but its mixed with hatred and attraction. If you know what I mean. I suppose it is like a rivalry between the two, but as I said before, they do pail. So they can.. create grubs." Kanaya finished off. I nodded.

"I see, how about Auspisticism now?" You asked. Rose nodded.

"Auspisticism, I think is the hardest to understand, but when you do it seems very simple. There are three people involved. One is the ' facilitator' and the other two are the pair. The facilitator has to keep their caliginous feeling at peace, however you can Auspistice redrom relationships too, but it's quite rare." You nodded again.

"The last one is the purrfect one!" Nepeta began. "Matespritship is what humans call love! It's just the normal boyfriend and girlfriend of this world. You should know of this right?" You nodded.. very slowly. "What's wrong?" You hesitated a little.

"I.. I have never experienced love. I never want to either." You said.

"Why not?" Nepeta asked you.

"I don't see the need to. It's a waste of time and it triggers too much."

"Really? Why don't we get mew to experience falling in love?" Nepeta suggested.

"Are. You. Mad?"

"Yea! But if you haven't then, we should you know! You should at least have a flush crush!"

"No, but then again~." You dragged out the 'n'. Nepeta looked at you. "Kankri~ If you like talking so much, why don't you do me a favour?" You stood up and walked in front of Kankri. Your face close to his. "Why don't you help me? If you do I will stop triggering you. Why don't you help me fall in love?"

"I cannot. It is part of my Celibacy to not be in any flushed-like quadrant with anyone." He answered you. "Also, it will trigger me if you are this close to me. Trigger warnings: #Awkwardness #Uncomfortable,"

"But we won't be in any quadrant, as I have never experienced love before, why miss a chance? And I promise if you help me, I will leave you alone and not trigger you ever again." You explained to him.

"Fine." He agreed with you. "We can start tomorrow." You smile.

"Alrighty then. Let's start tomorrow, just meet me at my place. Nepeta can show you were that is. I'll be on my way now." You said as you started to walk out of Nepeta's hive.

"[N/N], I think you know what my new ship now is! Also why are you going so early?" Nepeta shouted at you.

"And I hate you for it! I have to do some Art course-work so I'll see ya tomorrow." You shouted back and left the building.

~Kankri's POV~

You kept blushing and you had your turtle-neck over your face to hide it.

"Kankri. It looks like you might get one of your quadrants filled." Kanaya said to you.

"She's a good person! She would be an amazing matesprit for you!" Nepeata said.

"Do you guys know how triggering it is when you all team up on me about my quadrants? it would trigger many, many things to occur within the time frame. Please refrain from triggering me in that way, it is not pleasant to sit, pardon me, stand through all of this nonsense. It is also triggering that you would think I would be somewhat, friends with that human. Do you really think that she would be anywhere close to that-" You were interrupted by Nepeta.

"You're wrong! You don't even know her and how can you say that! You are so judgemental about her first impression! She does that so she can push people away! Do you know how long it took me to convince her to come today?! Do you even know what it took for me to do so?! I had to make a deal with her! Kankri when you go over to her place to help her, please just don't be too harsh on her. Just let her warm up to you. _{[AN: Gahh! I am so sorry if Nep is OOCed here! It's just my headcannon that Nepeta would stand up for her friends like that]} "

"Nepeta, I thank you for your information, but I suggest you not to interrupt my lecture as it triggers me-"

"KANKRI! JUST THE FUCK UP SHUT UP AND LET'S FUCKING GO!" Karkat shouted and dragged you back to your hive.

~Back to Reader-chan's POV~

It was 9 am the next day, and you were currently lying on your couch in your apartment. You were in (f/c) shorts and (f/c2) shirt. You had your laptop in front of you and you were surfing the "interwebs" when you had a knock on your door. You groaned and got up from your couch to open the door. You were suddenly tackled to the ground with a hug. You groaned again.

"Nep~ It's toooo early for this," You whined. She giggled.

"I know you're not a morning person, which is why I came early!" Nepeta grinned.

"Why exactly are you my friend?" You asked her.

"Because you love me~" She answered. You groaned again, pushing her off you.

"You made my whole fucking body sore. I hate you so much." You replied stretching.

"Language, [Name]." Kankri stated.

"I really don't care about triggers at the moment Kankri. I currently care about the condition of my body that a certain cat put me in." You snapped back.

"Hey! Anyways I will be on my way! You better not come back until after dinner Kankri!" Nepeta explained.

"Wait what!" You exclaimed.

"He is going to stay with you for the everyday for the summer holidays!"

"No." You answered immediately.

"Aw, why?"

"I have other things to do."

"[Nnnnn/Nnn]~!" Nepeta whined. "I promise I will leave you alone if nothing happens after this month!" You glared at her.

"Fine." You answered and she giggled again.

"Yay! Okay well I'll be off now! See ya guys later!" And with that, Nepeta left your apartment as she pushed Kankri inside and shut your door. You groaned again.

"Ugh.. I was joking around yesterday. I didn't actually mean it. Anyways, it seems we have to get to know each other. Want anything you eat?" You said as Kankri was about to lecture.

"Oh right. I'm fine, I already ate." He answered you.

"Well some quick rules of my place." You began. "Never, I mean NEVER go into my room, it will trigger something, the results vary. Never sit on my couch when I'm around. Never use my kitchen unless I tell you to, I don't want my place to burn down. And finally. Never. I mean fucking NEVER! Go. On. My. Laptop. Unless you want your death wish." You finished with plopping on to your couch, proceeding to lie down on it and went on your laptop. You saw in the corner of your eye that Kankri sat down on a chair and took out his book to read.
It was nearing lunch and you were about to stand up from the couch when.. You fell off it on your back with a THUMP. You saw Kankri quickly going to your side.

"[Name] are you okay?" He asked. You groaned again.

"Ugh.. yea this is normal." You tried to sit up but you quickly just gave up. "This is why I am not a morning person." You complained as your back pained you to hell.

"Do you need help [Name]?" He asked you. You groaned once again [AN: You like groaning it seems :33].

"Just.. give me a minute. I'm pretty resistance as it happens.. every single day." You explained, just lying there, taking in the coldness of your wooden floor. You saw Kankri stay by your side, but his eyes were going to your laptop. "Kankri. Don't you DARE look at my laptop." You warned him.

"Why not? Trigger warnings, #lecture #annoyance." He asked back.

"Ugh.. It has private stuff in there." You answered truthfully. You tried to get up again and you succeeded. "Alright, what do you want for lunch?" You asked him.

"What are you getting?" He asked.

"Oh, I'm thinking a sandwich." You answer.

"I'll have one too, just don't put any peanut-butter in it. Trigger warnings, #aphrodisiac #pail #buckets," He said with a blush.

"Ah, of course. Though thank you for the information." You smirked and skipped into your kitchen.

~Time skip to the last week of the holiday~

You woke up and looked at your calendar. Only one week before school starts again and one more week before Kankri would stop going to your house. I suppose you felt disappointed. You did develop a flush crush for him. His little gestures, his lectures that you like stopping, his rare smile, the way he gets frustrated, the way he tugs on his sweater. It was adorable. The past 3 weeks, he helped you. There were days where he tried a bit too hard to try to get you to understand the concept of love. You have been pretending to be dense and seeing his frustrated face was priceless. But you knew that it wouldn't work, considering you get bullied at school for being you. You sighed, you guessed you could never have a love life. You thought for a minute. You know how it feels to have a flush crush now and you don't need to fall more in love with Kankri, so you were going to suggest to him that this would be the last day he would need to come over. He should be in a matespritship with someone of his own kind, not just a mere.. imperfect.. human. You remembered that he was a Celibate. It makes things even worse. You got up and began your morning routine.

You were back on your couch, with your laptop lying on your front. There was a key turning sound and you heard footsteps. Did you mention that you gave Kankri the keys to your place? From you falling on the fall just before lunch for 4 days straight, you decided to give Kankri some spare keys so you don't have to suffer from back aches. Every. Single. Day. You are still a klutz though.

"I see you well [Name]," He greeted you.

"I hear you well Kankri, now if you please I need to complete this story for my literature class." You lied. You didn't have a literature class. You told everyone who has been in your place that you have a literature class, because you need to hide what you actually write on your laptop. As you were bullied a lot, you seek comfort in writing out your experiences in story format. You also write about what you want in life.

"You don't have a literature class [Name]. Remember one of my triggers is lying. You brought this on yourself [Name]. What exactly are you writing?" He asked as he walked up beside to peek at what is on your laptop screen. You glare at him.

"Kankri, it's personal stuff if you must know." You sighed.

"Why are you hiding it? Can't you elaborate on it?" He asked again.

"Kankri. Don't. It's a sensitive subject. You will trigger me."

"My deepest apologies [Name], I did not realise that it was sensitive to you. I must remember to check my privileges."

"Don't worry about it. Anyways I have something I need to talk to you about." You said as you sat up. "I.. I don't think you should come anymore." You look down to your lap. "It's just that I now understand the concept of love, so I don't see why you need to come anymore." You fiddled with your hands. "You can stay for today, but you don't need to come anymore." You look up at him. "We are just... friends right?" You wanted to hit yourself on the head. You just friend zoned yourself.

~Kankri's POV~

You blinked. Did [Name] just friend zone you? And did she just say that you shouldn't come over to her place again? Does she even know how much she tortures you? It's safe to say that she is your trigger and that you fell for her. Hard. Nepeta was right. [Name] is amazing. Every little gesture she does, was adorable. The way she can be so vulnerable yet so daring. It kills you to not touch her, to hold her, to cuddle with her, but as part of your Celibacy, you can't be with her, though you can try right? Wait, no. You would break your Celibacy for her, but it seems to you that she does not feel the same.

"Yea.. we are just friends. Why don't you finish off what you are writing? I'll just.. be reading." You told her.

"Oh.. If you feel uncomfortable, you can leave right now if you want. I don't mind.." You heard her mutter something under her breath, but you couldn't hear what.

"What was that [Name]? I didn't quite catch that. Trigger warnings, #lying."

"Don't worry about it Kankri." She sighed. "Just go read your book." She went back to her laptop. You sighed and went to your normal seat.

~Reader-Chan's POV~

You were about to break down. You didn't want to do this to him, but it was for the best. You picked up your phone and began texting Nepeta.

You put your phone back down and went back to your laptop.

"Kankri, can you make lunch?" You asked without looking up from your laptop.

"Of course [Name]. Anything you would like?" He asked you as he was getting up from his seat.

"A sandwich." You answered, typing away at your laptop. "Thanks." You kept typing at your laptop as you heard stuff being done in the kitchen [AN: Don't worry.. it's nothing.. bad.. I think]. You were currently typing a depressing story on your laptop, based on you. You had a folder for all of these stories, it was like your own kind of diary. You felt someone sit next to you.

"[Name], I made a sandwich for you. Here take it." You placed your laptop down on the table in front of you and put your artwork on screen. You take the plate and began to eat it. "[Name], there's something I want to tell you..." Kankri began. You looked at him.

"Go on."

"Well... You see.. Trigger warnings, #confession, #nervousness #possible rejection. [Name], the past few weeks I have been coming over, has been amazing and.. nothing can beat it. You see, I don't know why I have been thinking about this, considering I am a celibate, but it couldn't stop plaguing my mind. [Name], I know you just think of us as friends, but I need to get this off my chest." Kankri blushed cherry red. "[Name]. I'm flushed for you." Your eyes widen and you blinked multiple times. "But you just think that we are just friends, that is okay, just as long as I can stay by your side, I'll be happy." You looked back down at your lap.

"Why.... Why must you say that?" You asked without looking at him. "It makes it even harder to see you go and block you out." You looked up at him slightly.

"What?"

"You see Kankri. I'm flushed for you too. But we can't be together." You answered.

"Why?" You saw tears threaten to fall from his eyes.

"I'm.. I'm just a mere human. You're a troll. You should just be with your own kind. You are a celibate too. Kankri, it won't be pleasant for you if we become matesprits. It is already not pleasant for me, so why should I make it worse and make it unpleasant for you? In school I mean. Kankri, I really do think it's best.. for you to just forget about me. Just think of me as friends. I.. I just don't deserve anything like this, I don't know why I was even daring enough to ask you that day. Kankri just.. just leave. Forget about me." You began to tear up. "You deserve better than me." You about to pick up your laptop when you were pushed down on the couch. You yelped. "K-Kankri?"

"[Name]... Why would you say something like that?" You looked up and saw Kankri hovering on top of you. "I wouldn't be doing this [Name]." He said as he lowered his face near to yours. "If you weren't my biggest trigger." And with that, he captured your lips with a kiss, breaking part of his Celibacy. This kiss felt like he was holding back, it was like he was testing how far you would go. You didn't respond at first, but just before Kankri pulled away, you returned the kiss lightly. He pulled away. "[Name], we'll make something work. I.. I love you and I promise we will make something work." And he recaptured your lips. This time with a bit more passion and you kissed back immediately. You pulled away, slightly out of breath.

"Okay then Kankri." You held his hand. "I love you too. Matesprits?" You asked.

"Matesprits." He sealed it with a peck on your lips.
